DESCRIPTION
This high quality sand cast cross is solid sterling silver with sterling bezels that hold hand cut and polished different stones including orange spiny oyster, cobalt blue lapis, Sleeping Beauty and Kingman turquoise, blue amethyst and yellow citrine stones. Hand stamped sun rays accent each point. This work of art is accompanied with a complimentary silver chain.

ARTIST
This piece has a hallmark stamp ˇ§W. Iuleˇ¨ and ˇ§ Sterling ˇ§ on the back for William Iule.
Horace Iule (1901-1978) was a Zuni artist who made a wide variety of sterling silver and stone pieces, most notably traditional Zuni crosses. Horace was taught silver smithing by his father. He made sand-cast items and then embellished them with hammering and die stamping. Horace worked with his wife Lupe Iule, who was from San Felipe Pueblo. They were married in 1933, and had six children: Ruby, Lupe, Cecilia, Robert, Barney, and Phillip. Cecilia continues in her fatherˇ¦s tradition with the crosses.
His children use some of his original casting equipment to continue the Iule cross legacy. His children have taught many members of their family and Pueblo how to make jewelry so the Zuni tradition is carried forth.

WEIGHT
.80 ounces

SIZE
This piece measures from top of the bale to the bottom is 2.90 inches and 1.75 inches side to side. The orange spiny coral stone measure .50 inches long as well as the Sleeping Beauty turquoise stone to give you an idea of the length of the other stones. The 2 stones on either side of the center measures .40 inches long.
The complimentary silver chain is 24 inches long.

BRACELET SIZE
If you are not sure of your wrist size for a bracelet, try these steps~
Wrap a loose measuring tape or piece of string around the bone area of your wrist from point to point. Where the measuring tape meets together you will see your wrist size. If using a string, lay it flat on a ruler and you will determine your size. It is highly recommended that you buy only the bracelets that will fit your wrists. To stretch a bracelet to fit on your wrist, not only are you putting stress on the silver but also on the stones - so please know your sizes! All of our items are inspected and mailed with stones intact.

We travel to New Mexico, the Native American jewelry capital of the world, and visit other artists throughout the Southwest 4 to 5 times a year to purchase direct from the traders or the artists themselves. My mother was born and raised in the West and still lives and works in the Grand Canyon. The Native Americans have always been a part of our lives and we have always surrounded ourselves with their culture and beautiful works of art.
All of our items are bought directly from individual artists or from well established, well known wholesalers and traders between Gallup, the reservations, Santa Fe and Albuquerque. We love to buy directly from the artists so we can support their craft as well as provide them a living for their incredible talents. It helps to bypass the middleman so we can send money back to our adopted families at the reservation.

It is against the law to post an item as authentic Native American if it is not. We do our best to describe each piece by the description, where it came from and the artist. We guarantee you will not find any fake, cheap or imported jewelry on our site. All of our items are Authentic Native works of art. All of our jewelry contains genuine silver, silver, gold and contains no pot metal, nickel, rhodium, pewter or other precious metal substitutes.
